Asking for a friend...

My mate resells, and was wondering if he could use a God ID (with fake details), register with an online bank (n26,mondo,revolut etc), and use this new bank account to receive occasional payment from customers who cannot pay via bitcoin/cash. He would then plan to buy BTC with the money and use it to purchase the IDs.

Anyone know if this has been done/can be done. Any tips, advice or better ideas are much appreciated

Tbh the online banks are just as strict as the big name banks nowadays - they're all regulated by the same strict rules. Online banks also have more to worry about in terms of brand image, they don't want to be known for fraud. Whereas, some of the big banks have been known to turn a blind eye on occasion - have a look at what HSBC did in North America.

I would suggest revolut as it's the easiest to get set up with, plus it is technically a prepaid card not a bank account (although it has all the same functionality) so it's less stringent with info and security.

It's easily done with revolut too, and for some it works right away and other end up needing to submit extra info to verify (forge the deets on a bank statement or utility bill, won't take you 5 mins in photoshop).
This is no longer the case - Revolut became a current account last year, and not follows the same regulations as everyone else. They really clamped down due to the sheer number of criminals using the service.
